Am Fear Liath Mòr comes from Scottish folk lore (also known as the Big Grey Man of Ben MacDhui or simply the Greyman) is the name of a presence or creature which is said to haunt the summit and passes of Ben Macdui, the highest peak of the Cairngorms (and the second highest peak in Scotland). Tales speak of unsettling chills and feelings of unspeakable horror when the shadow (said to be at least 9ft tall!) is near, stalking the folk climbing the mountain. Needless to say those who felt it's presence flee as fast as possible. This tale is local to my childhood home, frightening stuff indeed
