The Tooth Fairy

£10.00

The Cnàimh Sìth, 'the bones fairy', or more colloquially known as the tooth fairy. What may be now known as a benevolent spirit trading coins for children's teeth, in Scottish lore it was originally a malevolent creature that had a penchant for ripping teeth from it's unsuspecting sleeping victims. Even known to scratch and bite at fingers and toes in an attempt to steal away the nails, for no more reason than the creatures were collecting these appendages to decorate their caves, and that they thoroughly enjoyed tormenting humans. The Cnàimh Sìth was a widespread cause of much fear, nightmares and even insomnia. That nighttime rattling at the window...was it trees thrashing in the wind, or the Cnàimh Sìth here to wrench away with your fangs?...
